Matthew F. Dolfi, Esquire
I am a trial attorney handling cases involving personal injury and commercial litigation. I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law. I manage cases involving Bike crashes, commercial litigation, professional liability, construction defects, employment and civil rights law, and personal injury claims. I have represented individuals, engineers, accountants, contractors, and employers in all types of litigation, including cases involving allegations of negligence, negligent misrepresentation, breach of contract, and large-loss subrogation. I have tried multiple jury trials and have also represented clients in arbitration, mediation, early neutral evaluation, and before administrative groups such as the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
In law school, I served as an intern for the Honorable Judges Kenneth G. Valasek and Joseph A. Nickleach of the Court of Common Pleas of Armstrong County. I also earned a civil litigation certificate and received the CALI award for excellence in Litigation Strategy and Planning. In 2008 and 2011-2019, I was recognized by my peers as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star. I am a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.
When I’m not practicing law, I’m either cycling or spending time with my family. I’m a regular bike commuter, member of Bike Pgh, USA Cycling, the Allegheny Cycling Association, and I sponsor the Dolfi Racing bike team. In 2014, I won the Allegheny Cycling Association’s Category C Criterium Racing Series and placed 4th overall in the Appalachian Bicycle Racing Association’s Category 4/5 Road Racing Series. I also won my age group in the City of Pittsburgh Sprint Distance Triathlon. In 2010, I finished an Ironman distance triathlon. Cycling is my passion. The law is my profession. I approach both disciplines with the same degree of commitment and dedication.
